Terrell McCrae

ceo & Founder

Terrell, a native of Philadelphia, PA, is a husband and father that serves as the Youth Development Specialist at The Harvest Center of Charlotte. After relocating to the west side of Charlotte, NC in his younger years, Terrell began to notice the lack of resources within the community. This led him to begin his career in child development, as well as mental and behavioral health.

Having over 11 years experience, he has developed a true passion for youth and the community and as a result of the lack of services in our region, Terrell decided to create a solution by establishing Building Strong Mindsets.

ANTONIO

BRANDON

Kileem

Antonio, a teacher and football coach at South Mecklenburg High School, decided to become a mentor to be a difference maker in the lives of young men. ‘I want to be that positive figure they need in their life. I want to show them that no matter where you start, if you change your mindset you will accomplish anything you set your mind to’ says Antonio.

Brandon, a native of Chicago, Illinois, moved to Charlotte in 2011 to major in music at Johnson C. Smith University. Upon graduating in 2015, he taught and played gigs throughout North and South Carolina. In 2017, Brandon decided to venture into the trade industry and now serves as an HVAC Technician. As a father of two sons, Brandon decided to become a mentor because he recognized that there are boys that do not have an active father in their lives and it reminded him of his personal experience growing up.

Backdrop Room Two

Kileem, the oldest of four, was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Despite being raised by a single mother and having an incarcerated father, Kileem went on to attend Johnson C. Smith University in 2010. After nine long years of persistence and overcoming obstacles, he graduated with Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Kileem is an author, social worker, and entrepreneur.

NAKYREE

NICK

TYRECE

Nakyree, entrepreneur and Charlotte native, attended Claflin University. His desire is to give back to the community and help youth understand that there’s more to life than just a common everyday way of living in this country.

Nick is a middle school educator from the Bronx, NY. He is an alumnus of Johnson C. Smith University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History with a concentration in African American History. Since graduating, he has dedicated his career to working with the youth through various programs such as Freedom School Partners and Project Lift. Prior to his recent move to Charlotte, he spent four years working as an educator and mentor at KBCP, a middle school in Chicago’s Southside Englewood neighborhood. Nick currently teaches 8th grade math in Charlotte where he uses his love of education to teach kids resiliency, and to be socially conscious change makers of the world.

Tyrece, husband to the most beautiful woman in the world and father to two amazing little boys, is a native of Toledo, Ohio and has been in Charlotte for seven years. He mentors because although he has a great Father and Mother, he never had a mentor growing up who intentionally invested into his personal and spiritual development. ‘I believe that a mentor helps give another important voice to teenagers, a voice that they need to be successful,’ says Tyrece.
